Description

This is the 'standard' type of catch and the vast majority of trapeze tricks are caught with the wrists. A wrist catch is possible when the flyer finishes their trick facing downwards. The catcher grabs the flyers wrists, and they are then both able to grip each other.

Examples of tricks that use this type of catch are numerous, but include: Backend Position tricks (like a Backend Split or Planche), Back Somersaults with no twists, or a whole numbers of twists (Layout, Layout Full Twist, Double, Double Twisting Double etc.), Cutaways with half twists (Cutaway Half or Cutaway One-and-a-Half), Uprises, Forward Overs etc.
